A UNIQUE BALBOA EXPERIENCE...

HISTORY - dance where it all began and honor the original Balboa dancers:
Your one chance a year to dance at the historic Balboa Pavilion on Balboa Peninsula. The Rendezvous has the largest gathering of dancers from the 30s and 40s, with special Q&A session.

EDUCATION - Balboa University is an instructional format to develop well-rounded dancers: A weekend with a variety of open-minded instructors to offer different techniques and skills.

IN CLASS INSTRUCTORS are utilized for students to have personal feedback in class.

INSTRUCTOR WORKSHOPS are provided to enhance the skills of current & future teachers of Balboa.

COMPETITION - only one contest showcased to inspire all levels of dancers - the International Balboa Championship: Skills in Pure Balboa, Bal-Swing, and Showmanship will be required to win The Rendezvous Cup. Competition will only take 30min each evening to allow for more classes/education and optimal social dancing FUN Amateur tap out contest added for Saturday night during after-hours.

All weekend events will run as scheduled allowing you time to eat, shower, and relax
The best venues, bands, and down to earth teachers are booked to create a unique experience

THE MISSION: The ultimate goal of this event is to create a week long Jazz/Dance Festival that will include numerous bands from across the globe combined with dance instruction for the ultimate Swing Era experience.

HISTORY: The Famous Art-Deco Ballroom on the Island of Catalina, California is an international historical landmark. Many of the big bands from the Swing Era played at the Casino Ballroom and we look forward to recreating those historic dances where hundreds gathered to enjoy...

The London Balboa Festival now in it's 5th year is the biggest event of it's kind in the UK serving Balboa dancers from around the world.

Every year sees a weekend of quality instruction delivered by some of the worlds finest Balboa instructors, and appearances by Balboa dance veterans for that extra special touch.

Set in the Hammersmith area of London the evening dances utilise some of the finest Art-deco dance halls in the area, as well as using a purpose built dance school for the classes.

The Festival also features an International Balboa dance contest and teachers cabaret.
